Reverse Cycle Air Conditioning

In essence, a reverse cycle air conditioner has the ability to both heat and cool the environment.

This is made possible due to the reverse cycle unit’s ability to, quite literally, ‘reverse’ the refrigeration cycle.

When operating in cooling mode, the unit works just like any other air conditioner, producing a steady flow of refreshing cool air. But, when switched to heating mode, the unit reverses the operating cycle, converting the cold air from outside to warm air inside, thus heating the indoor space.

In technical terms, a refrigerant is passed through an external coil, which absorbs the heat from the outside air.

The refrigerant is pumped through the compressor into a fan coil unit inside the building, releasing heat into the room. Regardless of the weather, the unit can perform this function even in the coldest conditions.

And that’s not all. Reverse cycle air conditioners can also filter and dehumidify the air inside. This function helps reduce humidity levels, removes the presence of nasty allergens, and overall just makes the air cleaner. This way, both you and those sensitive to allergies can breathe easy.
